Thomas’s Clapham: Anything But Ordinary

As the wonderful outcome of our recent ISI Inspection was shared with families,  one quotation in particular was exceptionally well evidenced during the Summer Term: “Teachers have good subject knowledge and use high-quality resources to enrich pupils’ learning experiences. A rich co-curricular programme supports pupils’ personal development and enables them to develop new skills and interests.”

Our Enterprise Week in May was a wonderful example of this in action, with pupils engaging in creative problem-solving, teamwork and innovation both inside and beyond the classroom. From developing entrepreneurial ideas to presenting their projects with confidence, the week brought learning to life in exciting and meaningful ways. 

What stood out most was the children’s remarkable work ethic and enthusiasm. Their ability to collaborate, think creatively and work together in the spirit of charity was truly something to be proud of. They approached every challenge with positivity and determination, and it was wonderful to see their ideas flourish.

Our whole-school focus on Sir David Attenborough around the time of his 100th birthday, further inspired pupils to think deeply about the natural world, conservation and their role as global citizens. Through themed lessons, discussions and creative activities, pupils explored important environmental issues in a way that was both relevant and engaging.

These are just a few examples of how, at Thomas’s Clapham, we continue to strive to be anything but ordinary, creating a vibrant, dynamic and ambitious learning environment where every child can flourish.
